All About Blue Tangs

In the wild, the blue tang can be found in the reefs of the Australia, Japan, Indonesia, New Caledonia, Philippines, Samoa, and Sri Lanka. This extremely popular marine aquarium fish prefer to live in pairs or in small groups of between 8 and 14 fish. They can often be found near cauliflower corals.

Young blue tang love to eat Plankton. Adults feed on plankton and algae.[7] Spawning occurs during late afternoon and evening hours. The blue tang is important to the health or coral reefs because it eats the algae that might otherwise spread and choke corals.
